Needs We Support

At Mayday Healthcare Children’s Services, we provide specialist support for children and young people experiencing complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges. Our experienced team delivers compassionate, person-centred care within safe and supportive environments, helping young people through periods of crisis while promoting stability, well-being, and positive outcomes.

Our staff are trained to respond to a wide range of safeguarding and wellbeing needs, including suicide watch, self-harm monitoring and intervention, ligature risk awareness and prevention, and high-level supervision during periods of heightened risk. We also support young people who may present with emotional dysregulation, trauma-related behaviours, anxiety, low mood, behavioural challenges, and difficulties engaging with education, routines, or social environments.

Working closely with families, healthcare professionals, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams, we create tailored support plans that focus on safety, emotional well-being, independence, and long-term development. Our approach is centred around building trusted relationships, providing reassurance, and ensuring every young person feels supported, valued, and understood.

What Our Staff Deliver

Our staff are carefully selected for their experience, professionalism, and compassionate approach to supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Trained in crisis management, de-escalation, and intervention techniques including MAPA and PMVA, our teams are equipped to provide safe, calm, and consistent support during challenging situations.

With a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), safeguarding, ligature awareness, and self-harm risk management, our staff focus on creating supportive environments where young people feel safe, understood, and valued.

We work collaboratively with families, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure clear communication, effective care planning, and positive outcomes for every young person we support.
